This water heater timer allows you to control when you want water heated and turn off the water heater when it isn't needed. When programming your desired schedule, you should allow some time for the heater to recover prior to using the hot water. For example, there is no need to heat the water at night time, when everyone is sleeping. Just program the water heater to go off late at night and to come on at early morning, before everyone gets up. The same during the middle of the day, if there is no one at home. There is an external override switch to schedule more hot water as needed. Can be scheduled for operation to coincide during lowest-time-of-day rates. Can be set to shut electric water heater off during periods of peak power usage. Includes three sets of trippers. Check your local code prior to installation.
